Dear Al, (Mr. Aronowitz) ...it’s me again

I'm just writing to tell you some things. First off how much I appreciate your website. How much? VERY MUCH. I learned about the BEATS about a few months ago by accident. I was reading this poem on the net which sounded very much like an exhausted car engine. It kinda felt that way too. VERY Beep BOP. I don't remember if the poem was good or not who cares? All's I remember waz the name Jack Kerouac. The way the words slip/ off your tongue. very ragged... very Humprey Bogart. very cool.

I had no idea who he was. He was in a poem. He must've been. Somebody important. I figured/Everyday I thank my lucky star that I stumbled into those two precious words. As a self proclaimed writer/struggling everyday/ nights too.

THE BEATS mean something like: two golden coins in your pockets that you jiggle/in your hands to remind you that there's Something beautiful/beatific about the struggle. Words can't describe how I felt when I read some passages of On the Road/ and Naked lunch too. Something happens to your head. That you just can't explain Try as I might.

In conclusion: What I really want to say is that your website is a goldmine. It kinda makes me aware/feel how empty my generation is. though. All that history and jazz.

P.S. My thoughts are in fragments/ I still haven't read On the Road in its entirety or any of the so called Beat Books... I just can't find them anywhere.

over here. every now and then I discover a fraction of a page/ or a poem or some thought/in the internet.

(I just needed to get these thoughts off my head)

hey, Man, I really enjoy reading all your exploits with those hip people in the 60's. So, thanks for writing all of it. Things seemed liked they moved a lot faster in those days. As I'm 22, I find myself in the din of the year 2001. Not nearly as combustial as the times you've described. There is a lack of energy in my generation. And the energy that is there is focused in a more vengeful way and that is not particularly good.

Anyways, I remember reading a while ago an article you wrote that dealt with Jerry Garcia. Where could one find that if it was written by you. Sometimes this computer finds things and it gets hard to get back. If you could point me in the right direction. Thanks, and thanks again for all the wonderful writings. Be well.

Bush Campaign To Return Blacks For Refund

Ontario, CA -- Saying "we only used them once", the Bush campaign today tried to return the blacks they purchased for their Republican National Convention in Philadelphia for a full refund.

The blacks, who could be seen on the convention podium looking confused and bewildered, were hired by Republicans to make the party look more "inclusive". With their job now completed, the Republican Party hopes to get back the money spent on the blacks and devote it towards other campaign needs.

These blacks done good, real good", exclaimed an ebullient George W. Bush, "and I'm sure they'll do just as good when they go back to wherever it was they came from."

Experts say the Republicans will have a hard time returning the blacks, however, due to the fact that they have since lost their receipt.
